2021

Those who live to bless others will have blessings heaped upon them, and the one
who pours out his life to pour out blessings will be saturated with favor.

Proverbs 11:25

With Deepest Gratitude
We are so grateful for your heart and great generosity toward the children and their
families attending Blankets of Blessing 2021. In a time of instability and great
uncertainty for many, your gift has truly impacted the lives of these precious kids and
their families. Whether monetary, gift cards, or actual gifts (scarves, coffee, etc) from
our local businesses and individuals, the parents were equally blessed!
This year over 130 (including kids and their families) attended Blankets of Blessing
2021
, and because of your heart to give, every child received a warm blanket, pajamas,
socks, and for the first time, a brand-new winter jacket. In addition, every child also
received a quality gift and book.

A Lasting Impact
What I love most about Blankets of Blessing is the lasting impact on the
lives we encounter.
Before our 2021 celebration, I received an unexpected text from a young
woman who is now eighteen. She and her family (including 4 younger
siblings), attended the event several years ago. In her text, she asked if we were still
hosting Blankets of Blessing and when I responded “Yes,” she asked if she could
volunteer! I was beyond thrilled! Blankets of Blessing made such an impression on her
young life, she wanted to “give back.”
Every year we have families asking to return because they consider the event a special
family time and “tradition” during the holidays and this year was no exception.

Special Moments
There were so many special moments during our Blankets of Blessing
Celebration
this year, from a child dancing around with his special
Christmas cookie, to children gleefully calling out to Santa “Hi Santa!” as he
and Mrs. Clause entered the room–such an atmosphere of celebration!

Jumping for Joy
As the ticket number for the event grand prize (a Nintendo Switch) was called out, we
heard screams and watched as a mother and her daughter excitedly embraced one
another jumping up and down as the prize was being delivered. The interpreter
explained that this overjoyed girl and her mother had prayed before the number for the
Nintendo was called out!

The Only Thing Lincoln Wanted for Christmas

One of my personal highlights was a 4-year-old boy whose eyes were
filled with joy that was contagious. Not only had he received a brand-new
bike in the drawings, which were in addition to the gifts every child
receives, he also received the table centerpiece–a small Christmas tree
with LED lights! He held his Christmas tree proudly as we walked
together carrying his gifts and new bike. While headed toward his car, his mother said to
me, “Lincoln told me the only thing he wanted for Christmas was a new bike!” I so wish I
would have snapped a shot of the smile on that young boy’s face as he climbed into the
backseat of his car. Lincoln and children like him is the reason we do what we do!

With heartfelt thanks for your contribution into the lives of kids who will probably never
know you, but whose lives have been profoundly impacted by your generosity,
